What do we do?
Cartwright Vehicle Conversions is an Automotive Engineering company that role-converts a wide variety of vehicle types for the Emergency Services, Defence and Specialist fleet operators. Specialist vehicle builds range from front-line Accident and Emergency Ambulances, Police vehicles of all kinds, custodial units and mobile Command & Control units. We pride ourselves in designing and manufacturing market leading vehicle conversions. In short, we build vehicles that matter in support our society in the UK and export vehicles around the world.
What does the role entail?
You will be responsible for electrical installations, diagnostics, fault finding and electrical repairs on vehicle bodies to the highest achievable quality standard, within agreed timescales. Duties will also include fitting looms, light bars, consumer units and other various parts.
Working to very high and demanding standard, consistent with the type of vehicle being manufactured.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical problems in vehicle conversion projects, including wiring, fuses, and electronic control systems.
- Install new electrical components , looms, wiring systems and accessories, such as lighting, light bars, CCTV, and alarms.
- Work closely with the conversion team to design and implement custom electrical solutions for a variety of vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on electrical systems to ensure they meet industry standards.
- Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues and ensure the functionality of the vehicle’s electrical components.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, i.e. engineering, to understand their requirements and provide updates on the progress of their vehicle’s conversion.
Experience:
- Experience working as an auto-electricians across any similar sector.
- If you do not have experience but are still interested in the role we do have a training programme for people with relevant but not direct experience
Job Type: Full-time, Day shifts
Expected hours: 39 per week
Location: On site, CVC
