Cartwright Vehicle Conversions is an Automotive Engineering company that role-converts a wide variety of vehicle types for the Emergency Services, Defence and Specialist fleet operators. Specialist vehicle builds range from front-line Accident and Emergency Ambulances, Police vehicles of all kinds, custodial units and mobile Command & Control units. We pride ourselves in designing and manufacturing market leading vehicle conversions. In short, we build vehicles that matter in support our society in the UK and export vehicles around the world.
What does the role entail?
- You will be responsible for supporting the production line assembly process and manufacturing our specialist vehicles to a consistently high standard.
- Working to very high and demanding standard, consistent with the type of vehicle being manufactured.
- In this role, you will be responsible for the construction, refurbishment, and repair of passenger carrying vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship that meets industry standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Construct and assemble vehicle components, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately fabricate vehicle parts.
- Utilize hand and power tools to cut, shape, and join parts, including framework and body structures.
- Install interior and exterior vehicle fittings, such as seats, floors, and windows.
- Inspect and test components and vehicles to guarantee safety and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to extend the lifespan of vehicles.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines during the construction process.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement modifications and improvements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Coach Builder or in a similar role within vehicle manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of vehicle design and construction principles.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for vehicle construction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
